The Value of One Letter Responses

Apr 10, 2011 22:26

I have finally grasped how one can happily imply an irritated tone by responding "k." I've had a series of epiphanies recently, and I finally understand that a person I've considered a best friend is really not a friend at all. This "friend" has created so many excuses and fabricated reasons why plans fall through and things won't work. On top of this, the "friend" has the hutzpah to ask if I understand the reasons given, or if I'm okay with it. I have relegated myself to one word answers and avoidance, so that I don't explode at this "friend". I am just irritated with everything this person has put me through, and so every time the person asks, my wonderful one letter response will surface and bite them in the ass. And one day, the person may finally realize that my one word/letter responses aren't just me being too lazy to type longer responses or refocus my attention from my most recent novel to conjure up a more eloquent answer. And maybe, just maybe, the person will figure out that I've caught on to the game, and I'm not playing anymore.
