Season finales

Ok, so now that all the spring season finales are over, I would like to rant about the season finales. If you haven't watched the most recent season finales yet, I suggest you don't read this yet. Going on now..

So let me start with the first finale that aired (that I watch)--Castle. Now, I love reading spoilers, but what the publicists released was stupid. They introduced the return of the actress who played Castle's exwife and his publisher, releasing an episode still that showed her IN CASTLE'S ARMS! Not only that, but it was a still from THE LAST SCENE of the finale--where Castle chooses her (Gina) over Beckett, crushing Beckett's heart. Let me put it this way--I guessed the ending before the episode even started, which just happened to share the same theme as the season one finale--Beckett and Castle splitting up for a period of time! SO PREDICTABLE IT WASN'T EVEN WORTH WATCHING!

On to SVU now. What exactly is supposed to be the cliff hanger that will make us viewers want to tune in for the premiere in the fall? Do you really feel that since you are now entering your eleventh season that you don't need a cliff hanger? I mean, it is quite clear that Melinda is going to make it to see another day since she was still concious enough to give directions after being shot...

The Mentalist-- Red John may actually be Red Jane... Red John may have Kristina Frye... Red John may BE Kristina Frye. Red John has a squirrely and high pitched voice, even using a voice distorter... Jane is still obsessed with Red John.... Ok... this was predictable from the promo as well...  And... WHY THE HECK DID THEY BRING BACK FRYE as a ROMANTIC INTEREST for JANE?? Jane, who still wears his ring, Jane, who still sleeps under the blood of his wife and daughter... moving on now...

NCIS--WHY DIDN'T YOU KILL MIKE FRANKS?? I actually liked this finale, except for two things... 1) Where's the cliff hanger? Jackson Gibbs isn't exactly a character we will miss if he gets offed by Reynosa... and 2) The police force in Mexico is more of an entreprenual job than it is law abiding--which is why it should have been expected that Alejandro was a dirty cop...

CSI-- UNSATISFYING resolution to the Jekyll story arc. A childish man enacting revenge on his father for not funding his med school? really? and not only that, but said childish man has connections to a highly accomplished serial killer? What? That doesn't make sense at all. And Langston, you should die, so the cliff hanger for this summer is "will he die"? WHO CARES? YOU KILLED THE SHOW WITH GRISSOM LEAVING.

Criminal Minds-- I see what you were aiming for, but you missed your mark. You should have ended your season with the creepy internet, camera installing freak episode instead of having a major miss for your finale. It is not memorable, at all (my point being that I cannot even recall the specifics of this episode, yet I watched it three days ago). What was the cliff hanger again? Oh yeah, Morgan getting hit--will he survive? Yes.

Finally, the best for last--CSI:NY. The promotion for the finale basically summed up the whole episode in the twenty second promo. Yes, Shane Casey is back. Yes, he is gunning for Danny. Yes, he draws a gun on the whole Messer family. No, we don't know who will come up on top. Yep.. that's all in the promo, and all that was in the episode. Let's just say, not only was this episode predictable, it did not tie off any story arcs or create any suspense.
