My mom graduated today
forever ago she decided to go back and get her masters in education and teaching license and now she's finally done
I was thinking on the way back that if I go ahead with this graduate early thing I will graduate the same year as Allie does from high school... and finish my masters the same year Mandy graduates from high school... so my family will be going to all graduations all the time!
we had a little shindig for Mom after the ceremony and I got to hang out with my parent's friends... most of whom are the parents of either my or my sisters friends... which would be kinda weird cept that I've known them forever and call half of them by their first names... I have to say I really enjoy their company... especially when they've had a little to drink... but I need people my own age!! I've been back over a week! no one! no school friends cause theyre at home and no home friends cause theyre at school. I mean dont get me wrong, I love kindergartners and middle agers but sometimes ya miss being around people your own age... Leah is back (thank goodness) but cause of Grandma's birthday Friday and Mom's graduation today, and Mother's day tomorrow I still wont get to see her till next week!
and Erin I just realized today how much youre not gonna be here this summer... and I'm gonna beat you with a spoon! Why a spoon? Cause it's dull you nitwit! it'll hurt more!
oh and I went back to fencing... there were lots of new people that I didnt know and who didnt know me
and the thing I was afraid of actually sorta happened... I was afraid someone was going to have died or moved or something and I wouldnt have got the chance to say goodbye... and then I had this dream... well anyways, I walk in and Val raised her eyebrow at me and told me my timing was impeccable... said neither Gary nor Dave was there, there was no fencing practice next week, and oh ps Gary is retiring and moving to Lurray and opening a sporting goods store there and the following week is his last practice. and I was like, what! that's not allowed to happen! It's Gary! he has to be there to give people a hard time! he gave me my first epee! and let me borrow electric stuff so I could compete in my first tournament! and then let me keep the electric stuff! and... it's Gary!... although I never actually did find out what he did for a living... he was a drill sargent... and then he said he did something vague... like teaching people how to beat other people up...oh well, point is, HE IS NOT ALLOWED TO MOVE!
but it was kinda funny the different reactions I got for showing my face after a year and a half... Tim dropped his jaw and his epee and then gave me a hug (he was teaching little kids how to epee--said he got desperate... they called him Mr. Tim... I laughed at him for that, he said it was Rhonda's fault)... Josh was just like, oh hey, welcome back... Mr. Kim rubbed his eyes like he was seeing something... he kinda dropped his arms (but not his foil) and I gave him a hug... cause I mean, how many chances do you get to hug Mr. Kim?
oh but the best thing, and when I say best I mean not, was when Val said that they might be moving to a new location... it's closer (to me) and would let them have the gym two times a week for the same price... but the days would be Tue/Thurs... and when I am taking classes... cause I didnt what to take them on Wed night when it normally is... so I might not get to fence this summer anyways... and all the art classes were on wed night... and I could switch... but Val doesnt know for sure that that's what theyre doing cause she hasnt seen the lease... gah!
in conclusion: people need to be my age! and not move! and arrange things so I can take an art class this summer AND fence!
