don asked the four of us (brit, chris, steve and i) to house sit for him thursday and friday nights/saturday because the team had a tourny up in cuesta. and the only torture i had to endure before they left was an intense interrogation on my relationship, under which marriage, the ex-files, fighting styles, and length of permanency all unfortunately fell. the man is nuts. but its super nice (if not a little creepy at night) to have that whole house to yourself. brittany and chris couldnt make it thursday, so steve and i wandered around trying out light switches, none of which seemed to work, and scared the hell out of each other every time the house made a noise. arnold, the socially inept, asshole cat they keep inside is one sneaky bastard. he will brush up against you, sniff your nose, lick your fingers and then BAM. one perfectly executed, fully clawed whack with one of those glossy paws right when you least expect it. and frankly, ive never seen a cat with bigger fangs. might have followed thru on the urge to whack him right back if i hadnt been entertaining the image of him leaping at my throat with the intention of murder.
thursday night was awesome, and thats as detailed as i plan to get. friday i filled up that massive spa/bathtub by the windows and indulged in one super girly hour. what an epic location for that thing. later that night we all went to dinner at sabatinos, a beautiful, devotedly authentic italian place on lido island. the four of us havent done anything together exclusively for a long time, and it was a lot of fun. havent laughed like that in a while. the rest of friday night was as equally entertaining as the night before. this morning (saturday) i woke up and wandered downstairs and had to laugh at the fact that i was walking around, naked as the day i was born, in don's house. kinda creepy actually. very creepy indeed.
oh and might i add that their balcony kicks some serious ass. the sunset yesterday was spectacular. then when it gets really dark and you can see the lights glittering on the harbor, the air is tropical (cuz its been record-breaking hot) and the trees block the neighbors on both sides. its...interesting to say the least.
the swelling on my finger is finally going down from that damn bee sting i got on wednesday. its absurd how much harm a little bug can do.
