naked umbrellas in the wind

OK, so, I haven't updated in forever. But I feel the time is right. Tonight, it was painfully obvious that I am not in high school anymore. I am sooo not in high school anymore. It's incredible how it is just an entirely different mindset and your problems are different. It's not bad or "less cool" or anything like that. It's just so.... different. And sitting at that bonfire with all those high school boys just made me so aware of that. I did not belong there. It was just bizarre.

Furthermore, here's to hoping that this summer does NOT suck. I really really really don't want it to. I don't want to resign myself to the fact that we are not what we once were and just give up. I don't want to throw in the towel and I feel like everyone has. I feel like we can save what we had. Sure it may have morphed a little but I don't want to give in to the fact that we've changed and just move on. I'm not ready to move on from being friends. It's not something I want to get over.

Finally, I miss my friends. Not just my Ann Arbor friends, but everyone... I miss human contact. I feel like an old man who works a full time job and doesn't have time for anything but work and eating and ocassionally sleeping. It sucks. I miss Ann Arbor in general. I miss the city and being around people who care about me 24/7. There is nothing like that. I feel so isolated at home. Even though I love my family and they're great, we are all running on different schedules and we all have something else going on. At school, we are all on the same schedule and doing the same things together. I love it.

I should have gone to Ann Arbor tonight.
