working dogs: coursing

Here, a greyhound is introduced to lure coursing, which consists of plastic bags pulled through the fields with a pully system. Watching greyhounds run flat out is simply amazing. There’s a pair of retired ones at the dog beach I go to who occasionally zip down the beach in just seconds - a very long beach & whoosh!

Sighthounds were originally bred to run down game - rabbits and the like and are built for speed: long and light and extremely fast.
