golden globe glee

I don’t actually watch this show, but it’s difficult to not be aware of this one. Perhaps someday I will rent it on DVD and catch up with it.

In any case, the Golden Globe Awards (another show I never watch) resulted in several wins for the Glee and its cast: Best Musical or Comedy TV series, Best Supporting Actor (Chris Colfer), Best supporting Actress (Jane Lynch)

For some reason I couldn’t find a complete transcript of Colfer’s acceptance message (it seems to have been pretty short in any case), but this is the best I found, at ‘Glee’s’ Chris Colfer Sends Message to Bullied Kids in Best Supporting Actor Globes Speech:

“I think I just dropped my heart between Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore,” he said breathlessly upon reaching the podium. “So if anyone sees that, please give it back to me.”

After the regular thanks to the cast and crew, Colfer gave a shout-out to all those kids that ‘Glee’ speaks for.

“To all the amazing kids who watch our show and the kids that our show celebrates,” he said. “Who are constantly told ‘No’ by the people in their environments - by bullies at school - that they can’t be who they are or have what they want because of who they are. Well, screw that, kids!”
