I am beyond astonished that anyone would think this was in any way, shape, or form acceptable to display on their front porch!
(For the visually impaired, it's a Christmas decoration for sale, which is a christian cross about four feet tall or so, densely wrapped up in white christmas lights. The effect...is remarkably like a BURNING CROSS!)
I mean. that's beyond outrageous. Of course this is the excreble American Family Association selling these... things ... so I shouldn't be surprised. But I am absolutely appalled... if you are too, you can tell them so right here: https://store.afa.net/t-contact.aspx
I've emailed them, so we'll see what, if anything, they say. My message was as follows:I find the "Christmas Cross" item you offer for sale (at https://store.afa.net/pc-10000310-11-christmas-cross.aspx) to be in extraordinarily poor taste due to its strong resemblance to a burning cross, which has been used for decades to terrorize and intimidate black people. This is a very unsuitable sentiment for something with a religious purpose, and I suggest that this item be withdrawn, to avoid having people conclude your organization in any way, shape, or form condones racism and racist violence.
