They Made the Deal!

Wooo-hooo! Pending physical I got my Ollie Perez back. I'm glad Boras stopped him from holding out for a bigger piece of the pie. I love his stuff when he's on. Glad to have my Ollie-kins back.

Are any other Mets fans a bit grumpy about the 2009 schedule? I find it quite janky. Maybe it's becuase I'm here in Atlanta and can't take the 7 to Citi Field whenever I can and have to wait for them to come to town. But in a town where the Mets/Braves rivalry is king, the Mets almost always were the first weekend game here. If not, they at least came in April. This time around, they don't come until May, it's a two-day Monday-Tuesday set and they only have one weekend series here and NONE at Citi Field. That's right, the Big, Bad, Braves come to town and no one gets to make it weekend plans. They have stretches of playing good, hard-to-beat teams back-to-back-to-back with no off day. Take June. In one week they return from Baltimore, face the Rays, Cardinals, and Yankees, all in one stretch. Then they get to fly off to Milwaulkee. I find the set-up quite jank. The Braves schedule's not much better. Not in terms of match-ups and travel, but in terms of who comes in when that I get to see. The only team I want to see in Inter-league play is Toronto, they only play the ALE, and with John Smoltz being on the Red Sox, I want no part of that particular weekend as it'll be a bi-partisan mob scene. On the upside of the horrid schedules, The exhibition game is Detroit, and though I've seen them (Mmmm... Verlander...), Kat and I look forward to going and seeing if we can go have fun and get autographs. I'm hoping for Dontrelle Willis' and maybe see Macay McBride.

L'anywhoodle. I gots my rotation set!

Johan
Mainer
Ollie
Pelf
Reddy

And as a sixth man/ possible short relief, Pedro. They can do this...
