I was talking the other day with a couple who claimed they never fought. Eventually, I discovered that by 'fight' they meant "screaming, throwing things, running from the room crying." So I enquired if they ever 'argued,' which they could not be brought to agree that they did, but finally they admitted to having 'discussions.'
So. Supposing you are recounting to someone your week, and you say, "And then $roommate and I fought about $TVshow for twenty minutes."
