OMG VELOCIRAPTORS: It reads a bit like this writer dragged up every internet meme they could find and then attempted to discover "will it blend?" The resulting slurry is pretty XKCD-like, though. Humanity survived, along with cockroaches and a breeding pair of LOLcats.
The Amazing Adventures of Hat Guy and the Girl Who Stole His Hat: It's kind of like Butch Cassiday and the Sundance Kid. Sort of. After that, they hit the road again. They eat a lot of cheesecake and commit a lot of petty crime; they put the radio on and blaspheme to Christian rock; they steal from the rich and give it to the International House of Pancakes.

A Thousand Miles: Okay, this is actually Yuletide fic from 2006, but I'm having difficulty finding good Avatar fic! Summary: Zuko is a woobie, Iroh is disingenuous.

Lord Barham Contrives: Very nearly perfectly in the style of Heyer, and the caper is quite neat. Not quite as vivacious as the canon.

A Patrician's Best Friend: I should maybe point out that my judgement is not to be trusted when dogs are involved, but I like this one and believe it.
Six Things You Never Knew About the Discworld (Or Maybe You Did): Very Discworld: If the queen could then order a legion of floury giantesses to cook the mutton as a filling supper for three hundred while her husband did a bit of exterior decorating in a heads-of-your-enemy motif, so much the better.
ALSO: have finished Avatar and my conclusion is that it could be better, if there were more of it. Tragically, the fanfiction as a whole appears to be ... not very good. I've found the yuletide stuff, which is lovely (see above), and am shaking down my friends and acquaintances trying to make them write more, but this is slow going, and they tend to resist. Does anyone have fic recs? kphoebe is asking for them here and please believe I am watching her comments with KEEN INTEREST.
re: Avatar also, yes, Toph is keen, but Sokka is still first in my heart. Or maybe Iroh. Or maybe Zukko. And if you're not mentally casting them as Robin, Nightwing, and Batman, then I bet you are now that I've put the idea in your head.
