Poll

If you read A Symptom of Affection and Silence, I'd take it as a favour if you'd fill out a poll. I'm interested in how people read it.

Yes, Betty finds herself fascinating )

I think the story isn't either slash or het, because sex isn't the point, but at the same time it's not gen, because there isn't enough denial in the world to make me think that this wasn't sexual.

It's... sexually charged and repurposed non-sexual behavior used for personal goals disguised as strategically decided sexual activities? I guess? My label for that is 'bat' anyway. *g*

This is more or less my take; it's too sexually charged (not just the bondage, but Tim is _cutting Bruce's clothes off_) to call gen, exactly, even if the main goal is emotional... release? Progress?

I'm actually wondering about Bruce after this. Because while I think Tim is perfectly capable of separating sex and this, I'm not sure *Bruce* is. And it raises the possibility that it will actually increase his guilt, if he can't stop himself from desiring Tim.

Tim being able to separate this from sex and Bruce not? Yes, please! After all, what would life for Bruce be like without guilt's transforming weight?

It's erotic as hell, but I don't see how that prevents the story from being gen. Canonically, the relationships between Bruce and the Robins and others are always shown in a gen light, but that includes sticky and hot and the panel in my icon and Jason's because he took me away from you and Babs' Cass, do you want to kill him or kiss him?.

Randomly, I have realized it is long past time for me to find a Bruce-and-or-slash Tim icon.

There is no button for 'gen like canon.'

I would label this D/S, implied slash as the underlying sexual pairing would be m/m. BDSM can be purely psychological for some people, but for most, the end result is a sexual pleasure even if no sexual contact is involved.

This is definately in the something else category. And it's not the bondage (do even the gen readers notice this stuff in this fandom ( ... )
