MEMAGE

Hey, kids, want to play the game where you ask me to describe a canon I've never watched and I describe it based on my impression of it from the internet?

Not worth you asking me about:
Buffy
Angel
Star Trek original series
Firefly
Babylon 5
Heros
M.A.S.H.
Due South
...others as they occur to me.

Hee! You know, Petra made a Sentinel reference earlier, and I got it despite never having watched any Sentinel or even read any of the fic. Fannish osmosis is a powerful force.

Sometimes I forget I haven't actually watched all the Sentinal. Like, I could probably describe the first episode complete with the timing of commercial breaks despite never having seen it.

Sadly, I've already seen the first season. Do you want me to attempt the second season as inferred by the howls of pain I've been hearing from the internet?

Sure.

But I thought iof a slightly better one -- Can you do the Dresden Files? I know its only a set of books, but I've got my foot in the door of that fandom and iot'd be nice to know if its something to avoid.

I vaguely believe the Dresden Files to be about a Vampire private detective, but I could have it confused with something completely different.

I believe this season of House to centre on the hilarity that ensues when Wilson has nowhere to live and has to move in with House. Fandom leads me to believe they then have sex, and are cruel to each other. This is complicated by the fact that Cuddy is chasing men around the hospital for their sperm.

Also, I think Foreman has some horrible disease, but maybe he's faking it.

Hah!

Okay, so there is this hotass called John, who is some kind of dim but lovable pilot, except when the plot needs him to be smart. He has schmancy genes which let him interface with alien technology, as the aliens were apparently a bit promiscuous back in the old days. So the Air Force sends him off to another planet to tootle around in the abandoned alien base which for some reason is a floating city so KIND OF LIKE A BOAT but we don't call it that.

There, he meets a sarcastic/insecure scientist with whom he has a lot of adventures and sex.

They seem to accidentally get a lot of people killed. They're kind of incompetent to be the front people for humanity, but what do I know?

More than the Air Force, apparently, as that last bit pretty much sums up the whole series to date. *nods*

Hah.

So. There are these ridiculously hot people who are stranded by a plane crash on this island that lacks continuity and consists entirely of vague hints, polar bears, and gigantic feet.

I think one of them is a hobbit.

Hmmm...Gilmore Girls? Though I actually don't know too much about it, and it doesn't have a huge fandom. But, still.

I believe it to be about crabby old retired laddies who have active romantic lives that I prefer not to think about.

Hee! Nix on the crabby old ladies (maybe that's Desperate Housewives? I actually WOULDN'T KNOW) - one is now college-age but was fifteen when the show started, and the other is her pretty young mom. But otherwise, fairly accurate.

pretty young mom

Okay, “pretty” was supposed to describe “young” there, not “mom”, as in “pretty-young” - I mean, she is pretty, but so not my point. Ha.

Oh! I have no idea if you’ve watched Smallville or not but, well, if you’re still bored…
