I believe 'good' might be overstating the case just a bit, but he was at least not entirely self-serving. I will confess that I had dismissed the Harry Horcrux idea (thinking that the production ought to require, at a minimum, some degree of intent on the part of the creator) and found JKR's treatment of the concept quite interesting. I could have done with that epilogue, though.
