Random Rambling

EBay is pretty damn frustrating sometimes. Trying to get something nice for a friend, and the items she wants keep going up far past what we consider an acceptable price. Four of them, so far. I'll keep trying, but I'm tempted to go out and build one instead. It's been a while, but I think I can remember which end of a hammer is which.

Some of the problems I spoke of in recent entries seem to be solving themselves. So, that's cool. Far less stress in my life. Gotta do further waiting on some of them, but progress is progress.

My money issues of last month didn't carry over, apparently. I'm due my next check in about a week, and I've still got over half of my last one. I've got plans for this. Oh, yes, there are plans. Quite possibly including those kenjutsu videos from Chase's school. Because weapons training is awesome.

My own money woes are over, but my family is actually having some for a change. Thanks, Dad. See, my mom was having some trouble with her Jeep. So she wanted to trade it in. So they go and pay off the loans on the vehicles before car shopping. She was going to get a used, but still nice, car. Dad talked her into getting a brand new one, for $10k more. The next day, he turns around and trades in his new motorcycle for a newer, more expensive one, sending my parents' usually massive bank account into the red, for the first time ever. Well, they won't really be overdrawn. Mom will transfer some from a savings account, and maybe use some of the huge wads of cash lying around the house, but Dad's check won't go through until Tuesday. So, that's good. But still... Making two huge investments like that, consecutively, is just friggin retarded. Particularly without consulting Mom. She largely handles the finances, which makes it worse, but even without that, they're married. In my mind, you don't do shit like that without at least talking about it first. Mom got upset about it, and Dad got mad at her for being upset. What. The. Fuck. They criticize me for wasting my money on toys... Grrr.

Waiting my turn for stuff really sucks.

No further word on broadband connection at home, except that if the fucker doesn't get his act together soon, Mom will go with a satellite connection. So, I will get broadband here, at some point. It's just a question of how long it will take.

I need to remember to get new windshield wipers on my car. They were doing just fine, until Dad decided he wanted to clean my windows. Then the passenger side one broke. The limited times available for me to travel sort of cut down on the possibility of a quick jaunt to the store. Hopefully, I'll remember tomorrow.

Got an A- on my big term paper for Senior Seminar. I've been getting a lot more A's in Peterson's class this semester. Maybe it's because I'm actually reading the crap he expects us to read. Weird.

Test on Thursday. Shouldn't be a problem, but I want to study anyway, just to make sure I do amazingly well on it. If I finish my paper on Egypt tomorrow night, and do a chapter summary for IR in addition to studying Monday night, I should be golden for... Well, two days. I've got another paper for Peterson due on Thursday. But it'll lighten my workload considerably. Can't wait for this semester to be over.
