Barbie.
The eternal target of the Dworkinettes. They just love to hate her.
"She teaches girls to be materialistic and subservient to fashion."
"She reinforces an unrealistic, male-propagated, stereotype of the shallow, sexually-submissive female."
"She's a symbol of male aggression."
Of course, to the radical feminists,
Easy Cheese is a symbol of male aggression (Oh.. come on! A hard, phallic-shaped container that spews out a thick fluid/froth when you squeeze the tip?? And then you eat the stuff that comes out? How much more sexually explicit can you get? It's so obvious that this is all about the sexual subjugation of women by pre-conditioning them to acts of simulated fellatio! Any idiot could see that!)
But they're wrong!
They're not seeing the bigger picture here.
It's blatantly obvious, after only a cursory overview, that Barbara Millicent Roberts hold a job exceedingly high in the ranks of corporate America. How else could she afford all those "material goods"? When she hops into her pink convertible and cruises down the highway to her beach house, she's taking a well-earned time off from her hectic job. Even during the week, she comes makes the commute back to her dream house. And, it must be pointed out that it's Barbie's dream house. It's not "Ken's Dream House where Barbie is allowed to sleep as long as she puts out." No. She owns it (and probably doesn't even have a mortgage on it--she's that rich and powerful).
Oh.. and Ken. Yeah. Let's talk about Ken. Barbie is supposedly subservient to Ken?? Oh puh-lease! Ken is the textbook definition of "emasculated". Nobody--not even 7-year-old girls--believe that Ken is anything more than a piece of arm-candy and a glorified cabana boy, existing only to satisfy Barbie's every (non-sexual) desire. He's been bringing her flowers, taking her out to dinner, and escorting her to high-society affairs for decades now, and it's blatantly obvious that he's never gotten any action out of it. I'm sure if you called Mattel and asked, they'd tell you that Barbie is, of course, still a virgin.
Of course, they'd be using the more traditional definition of the word, since everybody knows that Barbie is actually getting her satisfaction from
Skipper (that whole "little sister" thing is just a ruse to protect Barbie from smear campaigns created by patriarchal white men who feel threatened by her obvious superiority). All good radical feminists are lesbians. After all, sex with a man is--by definition--degrading and dehumanizing.
I could go on for hours, but it's blatantly obvious that Barbie is an exemplary role model for young girls in their pursuit of radical feminism. She's everything they strive to be: a rich, powerful, exceptionally-gorgeous lesbian who lords her beauty and power over the men who follow her around like lost puppies begging for scraps.
I expect that Ms Dworkin--after taking time to reassess her earlier judgments--will be calling Mattel any day now to offer her whole-hearted endorsement to Barbie.
.... or not.
