What is the biggest lie you ever told? What were the consequences?
"I don't love you."
It only brought me years of heartache, deception, and pain.
Of course, had I been honest, I still would have had those years of heartache and pain, with the added awkwardness of him knowing that I loved him and that he didn't return my feelings. I doubt we would have been as close as we were had there been that wedge between us.
It was probably better in the long run that only I hurt. I couldn't stand to see him in pain.
So he took me for granted. So he didn't really believe me when I finally told him. At least I had him. And I still have him. That's all that matters.
