Should I go to this school?

I'm a junior in high school and I'm looking for colleges that I should attend. I live in Tennesse but would like to go to a college up north because I think there are more career opportunities for me (I want to be a writer) and I really like the who atmosphere. So I was considering Brooklyn College. My question is: Is it a good college? How good will it look when I'm applying to grad school? How's the people? Is it hard to get accepted to? What are the Pros and Cons? Any info would be great.
