In difficult times strangers will tell you the story of their life

Yesterday was Tobby's birthday, he turned 19. I have to say it was rather low key but the hands of time are mangling much of the things I and all the people around me once enjoyed. We decided to first head towards Solar City for some photos and then hit the inner city. Solar City was really weird that day, it seemed like a Ghost Town. It was so silent and empty. Well anyways, we took the tram into the inner city and hit some supermarkets. Bloody bollocks, it seems like my favourite energy drink is not available anymore! I had to get a substitute so we went into a local Asia store and bought some Lipo and M-150. Osotspa thou art my savior! After that we went straight to the Asia Queen, a Sushi Bar. The crew there already knows us, as we are about their best customers. We spent 2 hours in there. Then we headed to the docks, we took some pics of the harbour skyline and went to the Lentos. As we wanted to take some pics there a security guard started to talk to us. At first he said basic things about what his thoughts are about professional photographers and how they would always come there lately. After that he told us about his job and how many people he already busted. Then we started talking politics. He had some really good comments about the current neo-liberalism. The time went by and we found ourselves talking about the problems of society and human relationships. It was somehow strange but also facillitating to talk to a person who knew what we were talking about. In fact this guy just needed to talk to someone, he told us that he always has to stand guard outside the Lentos from 6 pm til 2 am. It's damn cold outside lately and yesterday there was some sort of rough wind. I can only imagine how it would be to stand guard outside for 6 hours straight in a cold winter night not talking to anyone. I quote Marlon Brando in 'Apocalypse Now': "The Horror". I guess we talked with him one and a half hours until we we went to Thyssen Tak, a Hardrock Café in the olde town. We took a glass of kindness (White Russian that is) to aulde lang syne and went home.
