We are truly blessed (as opposed to cursed) by our tax refund this year. My husband and I are able to eliminate some high-interest debt, take care of his troublesome wisdom teeth, AND get my license back! I'm so excited.

We have also been scouting reasonably priced cameras so I can stop borrowing cameras from friends and family. This has been the greatest obstacle to my starting this business, other than my license. We were able to find a suitable camera and accessories for less than $1000, and as I get better and business picks up, I will look into investing more for the D300. The good thing is that the 28-80mm lens I have for my N70 SLR will work with the D80 we plan to get, so if I purchase a D80 kit, I will already have 2 lenses to work with right off the bat. I might also consider sticking with the D80 and putting the bulk of my investment in higher grade lenses rather than upgrading the camera body. Eliminating debt and adjusting your W4 exemptions have some nice advantages -- more income available to you throughout the year! My husband is gracious enough to recognize the potential of my photography business and invest his hard-earned money into making me a success. Without his support, I wouldn't even dream of owning my own business.

The bookings are rolling in -- keep 'em coming!
