"You sound like you're from London!"

So, day 2 has turned out to be much better than day 1.

I arrived at Heathrow just before 5am and spent the next hour getting my stuff sorted out - how lovely is this, the baggage handlers have already broken my backpack. Some of the straps have snapped. I got on the Tube at 6am and was at the hostel by nearly 7, where I dumped my luggage and set off to do a bit of sightseeing. I mainly just rode the Tube and did a lot of walking - I went to Oxford and Regent Street, went to Piccadilly and sat in a Starbucks just to say I have done it, went to Buckingham Palace to take a quick look but it started raining so I made my way down to Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Again it rained and I still don't have an umbrella so had to go and find shelter quick.

The hostel was average, wasn't expecting much. Shared a room with 5 other people - 4 girls and 1 boy. Let me tell you, waking up at midnight to see some guy climbing into the bunk above you is a not a pretty sight. And people are totally inconsiderate but whatever. I can see me and the bathrooms are going to be having issues... the showers leave a lot to be desired for!

I met up with Amy and Nicole today who are also on the tour and they are pretty cool girls. We have some stuff in common which is good. Today we decided to do some of the touristy things - we went to the Tower of London and London Bridge, we went to Madame Tussauds and also the National British Museum. All a lot of fun, wish I could have spent more time in those places but there are plenty of more places to see. We're going to do the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Harrods tomorrow, and I want to go back to Wesminster Abbey. Am sure we will find a lot more things to do as well.

Am currently sitting in my hotel room in the Royal National, contemplating whether I want to get anything to eat for dinner or not. The girl I am sharing a room with is really nice... but doesn't speak too much English. Good to finally meet people from the tour though, I feel a lot better now that I have.

Okay, gonna love you and leave you all. I'll update again when I can but not sure how frequent I will be able to once the tour starts... will try my best.

Take care and hope all is well with everyone.

xx

P.S. Would just like to add that there have been snow flurries all day today. Very pretty but very cold!!!
