First look - pre-We are Robin Hood
Guy stopped in front of the mirror, fastening the wolf buckles on his jacket, giving his appearance a quick glance before dropping in on Marian. He knew she wasn’t overly affected by how he looked but it was an innate thing. There was a certain vanity in Guy, and he wanted to look his best for her, as if it would help. Wherever he went, women turned as he walked past - the man in black on his black horse, they called him. Deep black hair slightly ruffled, but that wasn’t surprising - he’d just changed his undershirt, after all. He thought it gave him a slightly rakish look. Piercing blue eyes stared back at the reflection, his face dominated by a nose that he considered slightly too large, but acceptable, with slightly thin lips that could curve into a smile when he chose - either at pleasure or pain.
As for the rest of him, taller than the average man, dressed from top to toe in unblemished black leather, which was remarkable considering the fights he inevitably found himself in. Leather boots which showed signs of aging, but were still in reasonable condition. He idly noted he would have to have some more made, soon. Spurs attached to his boots, making a satisfying clank when he walked. Sword hung by his side for easy access, a plain, simple but deadly weapon, in contrast with the rest of him.
Post-We are Robin Hood
A cloth is hung over the mirror. Guy does not want to look at himself in it. He can imagine what he looks like only too well. Hair lank, long, unwashed. His eyes dulled by alcohol, red rimmed from lack of sleep. The black leather long gone, lost somewhere along the way on the trip back from the Holy Land - either thrown overboard, or traded in for the new clothing that lies strewn on the floor. Black is still predominant, but part of the reason Guy doesn’t want to look in the mirror is that he is scared that all he will see is a shell surrounding a black and broken heart.
