Kvothe is another who can often be found in the library, and he can't help but follow the music when he hears it. It draws him in, he can recognize the great skill of the player and though he feels a pang for his own silenced music he listens. He doesn't interrupt, he wouldn't interrupt someone who plays like that, but Maglor may notice a head of red hair probably brighter in color than his relatives, the color of flames.

Since this audience is not another undead relative, he continues playing a while, letting the music reach a natural end. In the silence that follows, he looks towards the hair, address to it a quiet "Hello."

Kvothe doesn't mind, though it's always pained him a little listening to music that he can't be part of. "Hello," he says back, moving forward. "Your music is incredible."

"It is what it must be." He sets the harp aside, shifts. "I am glad you enjoy it."

"I have always had an ear for music," he says, understating the matter entirely.

He smiles a little, appreciating an appreciation for music, even if it is understated. "Then you are wise."

"I do not think I have ever heard a musician to equal you," he says, "and I have heard many." Not flattery, just fact, and it's plain in his voice. And of those he's heard, he was one of the best.

"There can be only one are few." It's not bragging, either, just that self-deprecation in this area would be ridiculous. "It's what I must be."

He nods, that he understands even if he can no longer find it himself. "You have played for a long time, then?"

You could say that. One of the little smiles, again. "All my life."

He nods again. "It shows." There's a little longing behind his eyes, he had as well. "Have you recently arrived, then? I've haven't seen you before."

"Very recently. --Do you play?"

"...I did," he says. 'But no longer' is implied.

"No longer?" Yes, it's implied. He still has to ask.

He shakes his head. "No longer," he says quietly. The pain and longing in his tone can't quite be entirely hidden, but he tries.

Because of that pain, he isn't inquiring further, but he can just about imagine losing music. "I am sorry for it."
