The Wreck of the B-29
Today I got a shiny new model B-29 in the mail. I assembled it in an hour or so (foam RTF model), no thanks to the manual that came with it (actual quote: Take off the motor Cover on the Wings groupware. Then connect with the wings (Remember the number sequence inside the motor cover)). Interestingly, the motor sequence is 0,2,3, and 4. Go figure. Anyways, I assembled the aircraft, and ultimatepsi and I went down to WPI to give it a test flight. The Quad was empty, so we decided to take off there. I took the plane, revved the engine up to full, and tossed the plane. It careened toward the groud, then slowly, gently pulled up, and skimmed just over the brick pathway. It pulled up and soared to perhaps six meters before I throttled back, and brought the plane into a left turn. She banked left, dove a bit, recovered, clipped a tree, cut over the driveway, and gracefully slammed into Harrington.
When the debris had all finally fallen to the ground, we began search and rescue. After 45 minutes we left with all but the tail of the aircraft, which is still entirely unaccounted for. I think I will have to fabricate replacement parts for that.
