Follow Me to Hippie Hill

Ah, Thanksgiving Break at last! Time to relax, visit with family, gather round the t(of)urkey, and head for the hills. But not just any hill; Hippie Hill!

Kristen and I went to That 70's Store for the first time this morning. We were slightly afraid that it would just be a smoking paraphanalia store, but it was SO much more. Shot glasses, tie dye, pot-shaped cookie cutters, a kinky corner...why, how on earth had we never been to this fabulous store before today?! Needless to say, we didn't purchase anything. However, we did take many pictures in our typical tourist fashion.

After coming down from our high (by which I mean "the mountaintop"), we went downtown to check out a fairly new antique store called the Junk Queen. The store was crammed to the ceiling with vintage and semi-vintage items such as clothes, toys, games, cards, books, and lamps. The lamps made the whole place seem rather home-y, despite the ubiquitous price tags.

A young child being bathed in a sink in the store, along with a refrigerator, made us further wonder about the possibility of the place being an actual house.

I really like this china set...it reminds me of Quentin Blake drawings from Roald Dahl books.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we started out the day with a trip to Hobby Lobby. Kristen was quite enamored with a bird decoration thing...

After we came back I cleaned a bit and set up the beginnings of a recycling center. Yay!!

Happy Thanksgiving Break, everyone!
