Happy Thanksgiving!
Matt has to work tomorrow so we stayed in town. We went to Benihanas for lunch and I made a light dinner. We'll go to Missouri tomorrow night so that all of mom's cooking won't have been in vain. And, she bought me cheetos. So I'm committed to turning up.
Little Shawn is laying up against my side today. If I rub my stomach, he moves a bit and I feel a bit better but it is a little disconcerting on a few levels: 1) he feels like a tumor, everything else is mushy but when he leans up against me like that it is rock hard; 2) I have irrational fears if I apply pressure on my belly to rub away the pain (IE get the kid to shift) that I'm poking him in the eye or something.
Now, what are your opinions on child rearing books? I really thought we'd wing it but my former boss that had a baby in July sent me four child rearing books from Amazon. For now, they are decorating the coffee table as I would rather read Enslaved by Ducks and The Audacity of Hope. I can't even bring myself to read ahead very much in What to Expect when your expecting. Don't spoil me, but if I read far enough - I think there may be a kid at the end of this thing.
