"I wish they'd all be like Miss Camperdown--she was after your time. She frightened Miss Pyke by dividing the whole of her Schools term between the river and the tennis-courts, and she ended up with a First in Greats."
- Dorothy L. Sayers, Gaudy Night
I'm no Camperdown, but I spent the bulk of tonight on Special Project #2 instead of actual work. Which means the rest of the week is going to be less than pleasant, but oh, the plotting and writing tonight was fun (all the more so because I hadn't planned on it). 1,069 words and two new spells, and it was a scene I'd been planning to wuss out on by having it take place offstage (not because it was squicky, but because I hadn't felt up to writing the dialogue for it).
And I have a title now, and some mental sketches for the next 1,000 words, and I'm feeling wicked clever (which may not be manifest in the actual product, but I'm going to enjoy the sensation while it inhabits me, doggoneit). Gooooood story! Evil, evil bunny, mind, but I'm loving how it's responding to my commands.
*considers how to make it hop through the next hoop. ooh, another excuse for another spell...*
