Life is not all sex, drugs, and rock n' roll

even though it should be. so the day just keeps on getting better and better. this morning i woke up and discovered that my car's transmission is total crap. my car cant reverse anymore and it takes me slamming on the gas to switch gears. the cost to repair this 'minor' problem: $2,000. ridiculous. luckily im moving in two weeks from today and i can get by with just going forward as long as i park on streets and only go into pull-through spots. but damn, it really sucks.

then on top of that, the olympics start today. this is a pretty cool thing because they are in greece and everyone said the greeks werent gonna finish and lo and behold, the olympics will be taking place and greece can tell the rest of the world to shove it or cork it or whatever. this seems like good news of course, until we examine the issue a little closer. as a graduation present, i was supposed to be going to these olympics with my grandfather and having an awesome time. and if you havent figured it out, i am not currently in athens. concerns about security and whatnot led my mom to call off the trip and now all i am stuck with is a t-shirt from some of my relatives who live in the greater-athens area. some consolation prize, huh? and then i also discovered today that the top male and female track stars have been accused of evading drug tests and will probably sit out these games. and the male sprinter actually won a gold in sydney so that kinda sucks for greece. i cant wait, however, to see the u.s. basketball team play the greek national team and to see Iakavos Tsakalidis and Sophocles Schortsianides destroy the americans. cant wait.
