This is just strange little thing that popped into my head last night when I couldn't get to sleep. It may not make a bit of sense.

This is set in the "Reckoning" AU (where else!) where Kahlan and Darken have Nicholas, but not quite the Nicholas of the show.
It's not angst or drama. Despite the title, it's not kink or porn. It's just sort of - silly

OMG, this is so amazingly hilarious!!! I love it - Darken: the ultimate punishment...you will babysit my five-year-old! Garen: No! My Lord, please, anything but that! LOL :D

Nicholas is so cute here, in that really annoying way kids have...and I love the glimpses of life in the Palace from his perspective. And Darken and Kahlan have a daughter! And then when Nicholas pretends to Confess himself...this is really just amazing :D

I really don't even know how this came about. I didn't plan to write it, but then this version of Nicholas sort of popped up.

I don't know if I would have come up with the idea of a Mord'Sith babysitter if I hadn't read your PR fic. I just went up close and personal with it, and Nicholas's voice came to me.

It was fun to take the filters off, and try to write all the things I might ask or wonder about if I were his age and in his position.

I hope this Nicholas doesn't turn evil, he's just too adorable...and I think you captured his legitimate questions and even fears about his place in the world, and his parents...again, great job!!!

I would love to do a little more in this AU. It would certainly be a kinder gentler place than StaST. I have a few ideas in mind, but first I have to get the monkey off my back with my long fic.

I think it would be a safe bet that if I do more with this, Nicholas will have to be the exception to the evil male Confessor rule.

I really hope you do more in this AU - and if you can wait until you're finished with StaST, you have more resolution than I have!

I always figured there ought to be an exception to the evil male Confessors rule...I mean, if Richard and Kahlan have a son, he'll turn out to be good, because it's Richard, and the show would just have to work out that way...

Plus, I vaguely remember from the book that book!Kahlan says male Confessors are only usually evil, but they kill them all on the off chance, which is even worse than it is in the show - and the implication that men are without compassion seems very problematic to me...
