Finally - I missed out last time
Went to see PJ Harvey last night. Awesome. Very stoked. I didn't have GA tix because ticketmaster are SHITHEADS so I was stuck in the seats at Festy Hall but I had an excellent view of the stage. She rocked.
Reasons why it was particularly good:
- high rock quotient
- lots of early material
- multi-instrumentalism by all band members (the bassist was limited, but still)
- use of maracas by PJ on more than one occasion
- use of whistle by PJ
- excellent pair of hot pink glow in the dark heels
- dress made of reconstructed uh huh her t-shirts
- 5 (?) song encore
- Me Jane. yeah.
- she's the coolest!
Had beers with friends afterwards and happy to announce that I am vindicated on both the Beyonce and Lenny counts, Dan.
Rockin night. Made even better by the fact that I rode home from the gig in 7 mins (possibly the only good thing about festy hall) and was sent home early from work on a day when I would have struggled cos I was so tired.
