In a dark slumber waiting for
the light of day to shine through
no nightmares, yet no dreams either
my mind in a cold, dark world
then through the window
the sun shines through
not as bright as it used to be
when my heart was closer to you

The days crawl by
filled with thoughts of you
happy memeories fill my heart
keeps me alive at all times
hoping, wishing, for more
seems to be forever
before you are back again
in my arms, in my sight
your voice only a memory
but yet music to my ears

Praying for your constant safety
fills up every spare moment
my love for you never ends
it is as strong as ever
hoping you can feel my love for you
across the many miles
knowing that it will be stronger
once our arms are around each other again

Until then, only memories can fulfill
my desire to see you
as the day draws to a close
it is time once again
to fall back into a dark slumber waiting for
the light of day to shine through
