Most immigration bail hearings are conducted by videolink. But occasionally your client is produced. Always when they're being held in prison facilities (either because it's a criminal deportation case, or because there's insufficient space in immigration detention facilities). Seldom and for obscure reasons when they're in immigration detention. Maybe some of the Immigration Removal Centres, like prisons, aren't set up for videolink. I'm not sure.
My client today was being held at Tinsley House IRC near Gatwick Airport, but he was produced.
I like it when they're produced. It means, if you get them bail, you get to see them released.
