Woot, woot -- moot!

Amazingly, given I thought my performance last night was lacklustre, I'm through to the semi-finals of the Peters & Peters Mooting Competition. Although I'm not quite sure how it's the semi-finals when there'll be eight of us. I guess that at the finals there will be four people and they'll just decide who was first and second best.

I have to finish my courts visit file today and turn it in along with my "evidence file" -- records of signed off tasks in class such as drafting, advocacy, etc -- so I'd better write that. Our assessment papers for our options have been released to us too, and I have to turn in a skeleton argument for my Immigration option on Monday, so it's not like this weekend will be relaxing.

I spent all of yesterday preparing for the moot and then toddled out to it in a suit, and today I'm in a suit again because I went on a court visit to the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal to fill up my court visit file. As a result I haven't cycled in two days and feel lard-bucket-y. It's funny how that works. If I stop for two days after a few weeks of exercise, I feel sluggish. If I lay off the exercise for a full week I get used to it and find it hard to get start it up again -- it feels like a chore. Although once I've been at it awhile it's normal again. For me, exercise is definitely not addictive except for the first two days after I stop it. It is always harder to get out of the habit than to get back into it. (Whine whine whine, OK, I'll do the court visit file now.)
