He really does seem to be taking it seriously. I think my ambivalence is well summed-up by the first and third comments below the article.
On the one hand, talk is cheap.
On the other hand, to hear the president-elect of the United States say outright of climate change, "the science is clear. The facts are beyond dispute," and then go on to speak of reducing carbon emissions to 1990 levels by 2020, then 80% below that by 2050 -- after eight years of a White House on the verge of climate change denial, which frankly gets people like me absolutely frothing with panic, it's a welcome change. It's hopeful. Something else that's hopeful.
