Today is my first day of the BVC. Which means induction. Which means lots of explanations of the course structure, lots of queues to turn in paperwork and get locker keys, and other scintillating stuff like that. Yet I'm already really excited.
The course, it has been repeatedly emphasised to us, is very practical and not academic. We'll be learning skills here primarily, rather than knowledge -- negotiation, advocacy, brief writing, ethics, legal research. Which basically means, we read the theory, they teach a bit, then we practise and practise and practise (and get tutor and peer feedback throughout) and after we've done all the practice we're assessed.
I will get an Outstanding because I'm determined to do so, so no worries on that score.
Meanwhile, I've discovered my long MIA memory stick hiding in the lining of my bag! YAY I have my CVs and all my work from last year back!
This will be a good year.
