Karaoke last night was fun. It was supposed to be stand-up comedy (because of being the first Thursday of the month) until ten, but the stand-up comedians didn't show -- Night is probably right in her assumption that they'd skipped off to Edinburgh for the comedy festival! As a result, it was just me, Night and Roderick for a while, then a couple of other karaoke regulars gradually trickled in. Because it was so empty, I tried almost entirely songs I'd never done before -- Que Sera-Sera, American Pie (the Madonna version -- *hides* -- as did not want to be on stage for eight minutes!), Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve, and Night got me up to do a duet of "It's Oh So Quiet," by Bjork! Then it filled up with a huge party and so I finished off with my signature, "Bitch."
Night's friends Shelley and Rob joined us towards the end of the evening (well, Shelley arrived around ten, I think, and Rob showed just after eleven) and I skipped off soon afterwards, but Night stayed on. Good night, all told!
