WOXY.com
About a year ago, WOXY.com went off the air. It was an internet radio station that played alternative rock that you would never find on mainstream rock radio, and I loved it. My old computer was such a pile that it couldn't even play WOXY for a long time, but when I got the new one, I happily listened again, just to find out that it was done in a week's time. I savoured those last days, and even downloaded the last day and a half of programming that someone put up for download on torrents, so I could listen to it occasionally to remember.
So, imagine my surprise when I'm cruising Facebook, and I find a WOXY.com group. And imagine my surprise even more when I find that its been back on the air since October. Dammit!
Now, its not like I've suffered, as I've enjoyed listening to The Current on Minnesota Public Radio, and will continue to as well, but I'm certainly enjoying the tunes coming out of my computer right now as WOXY plays some sweet music. And I think I've heard one song in the last hour that I'd find on regular radio. Thank you, internet, for saving radio for me.
