I don't care what they do with Equestria Girls as long as it doesn't interfere with Friendship is Magic.
This, really. I don't mind a spin-off involving humanized ponies; I'd just prefer for it to not be canon as far as MLP:FiM is concerned. In other words, whatever happens in the movie should stay in the movie and be treated no different from, say, speculative fanfic.
I've not watched the EqG trailers, although I'll probably check out the movie when it comes out, if I get a chance to. I am sure that DHX will do the best job they can; at the same time, I'm not sure there won't be aspects to the movie (the whole highschool setting etc.) that are fundamentally and intrinsically problematic and/or unappealing (to me).
But I hope it'll be good and fun to watch. We'll see, and I don't want to judge the movie (either way!) without having seen it.
As for the toy wars? I think that's business, as usual (and business as usual), and also not MY business. :) And while I would probably prefer EqG over Monster High or so if forced to choose, it's not as if I have to love either, even if I love the other even less.
