Pumpkin Carving Event

Equestria Daily is having a pumpkin carving event (and a fan-fic writing contest) to mark this year's Nightmare Night. The deadline for the pumpkin carving contest is noon Pacific Standard time (8 pm GMT) on October 27. Since Nightmare Night doesn't really have a date you can pin it to, October 27th is a good as any. ;^) For the fan-fic contest, Nightmare Night falls October 24th... ish. It's midnight, which is like on the cusp of the day before and the next day? Doesn't every day have two midnights? I am le confused. Well, whenever that might be, the prize for the contest is about the same as for the event: getting your opus up on EqD.
There have already been 11 entries of carved pumpkins, and you can see them as they roll in right here. Gazemaze in gazemazement! Pyrobob's Scootaloo is the eighth entrant, the others so far are Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Philomena, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle and the Princess Luna trinity: Princess, Nightmare and Mare in the Moon. There is a maximum of two submissions per person (IP address) and among the first 11, twice there are two pictures of the same carving. 0_o
