Yes, I'm well aware that I almost NEVER update. Live with it. I'll share when I think I have something worth sharing.
For those of you that aren't local, graduation is on hold yet again. I have a 3.0 GPA within my major, but because my cumulative is a 2.42, I'm short of the 2.5 minimum required to graduate with the DFEC degree that I've easily earned the credits for. I have no chance in hell of raising it, so I'll have to suffer through a GPA appeal, and since it's the University of North Texas, I'm not terribly optimistic about my chances. Fuck it. If it doesn't go through, I'll just transfer to UTA and crank out a bachelors in English Lit. I'd have had to do it eventually anyway, given what I want to do, but it sets my plans back at least another 1.5 to 2 years.
Now, for more cheerful news (or at least something good for a laugh):
I've decided that in order to look presentable for interviews and stuff, I needed some skirts. There's a small problem with this, though. I'm a short girl, with short legs, which means that almost nothing will fit me off the rack. Ever. So, on top of the 30 bucks or so that most people would shell out for a decent dress, I have the privilege of tacking on an extra 7-10 dollar minimum to have it at least taken up, if not taken in.
Fuck it. I'll make my own.
So my friend Cheryl and I went to a fabric outlet off Harry Hines and Walnut Hill over in Dallas, and had a bit of fun drooling over some really cool fabrics. I settled on three: a charcoal gray, a medium blue, and a lavender (shut up, already). The gray and lavender I'll use to make some longer skirts, and the blue will either be mid-calf or just at the knee. Good simple pattern. Now.... if I can only figure out how to do it.....
Excuse me while I go and pretend to be a girl.....
