Weekend
Pentecost
Yesterday was a bit of a wash-out. Got up 4.15am, too hot, by 4.30am had thrown up. Oh dear. Back to bed, with bucket, feeling rather wobbly & stayed there the rest of the morning. Was feeling a bit better by lunchtime so tried some lunch (apple & yoghurt). Threw up half an hour later. Ah well, back to the orange juice with a bit of salt (rehydration fluid cos I had diarrhoea too). Didn't do the other half of my course with Lesley George. Shucks! However I had a banana around tea time and some time after "Dr Who" S turned up with a scrambled egg on toast, both of which stayed put as decent food should. So I should be ok for the birthday cake today. w00t! Sic transit, gloria Sunday!
There will be a birthday cake though. S turned up Friday night, hooray, he made a cake yesterday - looks good too. I wasn't doing any cooking in case I infected them. Then H went & got some gateaux to hand round at work tomorrow. He'll be getting donuts for Church today.
Today is the Festival of Pentecost - the commemoration of the Birthday of the Church Universal. God sent His Holy Spirit on the group of Disciples (about 200-500 of them) and suddenly the Church was born and began transforming the world. Having been reading the book of the Acts of the Apostles recently I'm not sure that much of the 21st Century Church is up to 1st Century standards. Hmmmm. High time we allowed God's Holy Spirit to empower us again. Which will be exciting, at the very least!
That's enough for now, time to go get breakfast. Y'all have a good Pentecost now!
