Looking Up?

Jan 08, 2016 13:05

Apparently the thing to look for in the heavens at the moment is a conjunction of Venus and Saturn.  This is currently occurring in the east before dawn.  So should you be up before 7:30am and have clear skies to the eastward, Dear Reader, it might well be worth a look.  Apparently this morning Venus and Saturn appeared about 1° apart.  Tomorrow they will be less than 1/2° and at their very closest, a mere 0.1° apart at around 4am.  Should you be on a night duty, or have to go to the loo at that hour, and the sky is visible why not have a shufti?

This picture was taken by Alan Dyer on 6th January (Wednesday), who was well wrapped up (it was -20°C), from Gleichen, Alberta, Canada.  Pretty, no?

Hmmm, time to go heat the potage du semaine for lunch.  It's mixed (mostly) orange vegetables and parsely and coriander this week.  H likes it, which is always a plus, but I reckon it needs a drop of chili sauce for perfection.

Y'all have a good day now!
