*Pops up like a spam email* :D osteoporosis, man.

Sorry, couldn't help it: according to almost about every health magazine my bf reads in the toilet ( and sorry for too much information :)), everything will make you end up with osteoporosis if you're a female:

*If you don't eat enough cheese and are a female, you know what will happen.
*If you don't start eating tofu and are a female, you know what will happen.
*If you don't walk an hour three times a week and are a female, you know what will happen.
*If you don't check your calcium level routinely and are a female, you know what will happen.
*If you didn't switch to soy milk like, yesterday, you know what will happen.
...

May be we should just accept it like a fact, that we will end up with osteoporosis if we're females :)? I personally drink about five Cola drinks a day, then according to that study I've pretty much finished the Cola drinks amount of 100 years for three people at least - O.M.G.

One might conclude that before tofu, soy and cheese were invented, and before calcium was known, 100% of females were ending up with osteoporosis :(.

One might indeed. Though cheese, & tofu, have been around for almost as long. &, as you so rightly pointed out, there are things we can do to improve matters.

Mind you, if you go back about 100 years, or maybe 150, most women died from childbearing and childbirth related complications (first major cause of female mortality). The second cause was fire - because women did the cooking &, until the cooking 'range' was invented, it was done over open fires - and they all wore long skirts.

You mean, the majority of them were not making it to the "osteoporosis age". I think may be with all the physical activity ( sell the car - here you've got it) they were in a way better shape despite the great amount of kids ( which does ruin the system) and thus did not have all the diseases a modern age has created with it's devices that are supposed to improve the quality of our lives. Take a TV for example. How does it benefit us? Another kind of entertainment, another way to transmit an information, including the news - and it all is great, but given a TV the absolute majority of a my generation prefers watching to reading: and no, there's no information there one cannot read in a book/newspaper/etc. Why not though? Because on the other hand, it means sitting on one's ass and eating fast food ( we cannot cook while our favorite show's on, can we). That's your osteoporosis, not the amount of Cola drinks, I think. They were may be dying in childbearing, but they were waking up at 5am and working the field, etc - which is a physical activity. Not speaking of you personally as I couldn't know how you spend your day, speaking of myself that although doesn't watch almost any TV but has 2 PCs and 1 laptop on her desk.

Bottom line: I'm considering immigrating to New Zeland and spending the rest of my life with sheep and tomatoes - who's with me :)? Let's found a small village where TVs, PCs and especially porn will be forbidden, etc - Paradise, no?

Just because I'm sick of all the porn to this point, of all the casual sex promoting movies, etc - sorry for the rant. That has nothing to do with anything, it's just that my boyfriend was watching the Basic Instinct thing earlier. What the Hell was that?? Ahh never mind :(.
