Oooh cool, I have a friend who wants to do Biomed. Can you have a broad range of subjects, like in the US, and pick a major after a year or two?
I'll probably do history or possibly something like politics, but more likely history. We have to apply to 5 university+subject choices with our predicted grades by January (or October if applying for Medicine/vetmed/dentistry courses, or to Oxford or Cambridge unis), then they give us offers with grades we have to meet to get in, or rejections. Then we pick our top 2 from the offers you get- a firm and an insurance. Next August we get our final exam results, and if you meet the grade offer for your firm, you go there. If you miss the grade offer for your firm, but meet the grade offer for your insurance, you go there. If you miss both you go into "clearing" which is pretty much just a catfight for any spaces which were not filled. Or re-apply the next year.
I hope that makes sense :S But pretty much; I have to choose 5 courses and respective uni (same as your 6) by January, but I'm aiming to get them in by the end of October, as we can send them anytime after September 1st (Or another date in early September)
