Day 21: Favourite Ship.
It's the big one guys.
.. And also the hardest one. Seeing as I sail numerous ships in a pretty unhealthy fashion.
At the moment.. just because it's aired the most recently, Gene/Alex is my favourite ship... but then a couple of months ago it was Robin/Marian, and I shipped them just as much as I ship Galex now. Well maybe a tiny tiny tiny bit less. But not much less.
But I guess, as it's the one which has stuck with me for... 5 years now (okay, that's like almost 1/3rd of my life, that is scary), and I have never really stopped shipping them, this one must be...
Look at that beauty. Back in good old days of Series Two, when Doctor/Rose (or more specifically, ten/rose) was a happy idea, the void was a word yet to meet my ears, and well... all was good.
I was so in love with them. My first proper ship (apart from Han/Leia, who were sort of different because by the time I started actually caring about Han/Leia I had watched Episode VI about a bazillion times)... I can't decide if their ending was actually worse than Robin/Marian's... or even Gene/Alex's. I've never been particularly fond of the whole Journey's end, clone idea okay actually I hated it. It just seemed to take away everything they'd been working towards.
I sort of liked the bit at the end of Tennant's final episode (I can't actually remember the name... The End of Time, maybe? It was rubbish whatever it was) with him and pre-timeTravel!Rose, but seeing as that entire scene had been leaked onto the interwebs, the impact of it was lost at the time. And the whole thing was just a part of RTD's ridiculous drawing out of Ten's "death" (which, by the way, wasn't even a death. Nine never minded when he was rejenerating...).
... so... yeah, I liked Doctor/Rose from 1x01 until the very end of 4x12 (and those bits of 4x13 when they were just standing around holding hands and generally being cute) , and I did squee epically whenever the Doctor would have a little moment where he'd remember her between 2x13 and 4x11 (especially in the runaway bride, with the flashbacks and the "her name was Rose". I haven't seen that episode in like 18 months and I can still recount it almost word for word :/)
Actually, in the episodes after 4x13 I wasn't the biggest Ten fan either... I hope my love of him wasn't entirely Ten/Rose based...
Okay, I'm going to stop now before I go into Doctor/Rose overdrive. Also I have been cleaning my room and I'm like 80% done, and I want to finish before I go to bed (or before my brother does in the next room because I'm using the hoover.)
