Hahaaa that's a good analogy.

Another big problem with curling I just thought of, is that the only time it's on tv is during the olympics, so the players can actually skate, and by far the best thing about ice sports is watching people fall over.

I've never played/seen a game of shuffleboard, I don't think it's particularly big in Britannia. But then neither is curling, thankfully.
The game I've seen which it's most like is bowls. Which is pretty much curling on grass played by people with too much money and time, and there are no brooms.

Well, I was actually looking for the rules of exponents, which are hardly much more interesting.
