Tis a Sad Sad Day

... because I finally killed my 3 and a half year old phone which I haven't replaced mainly because Rose used the same phone in one episode of Doctor Who.

<- There it be, incase you needed a visual image. Yes, I made an icon, I was that excited.
Ok, to be fair, I haven't actually completely killed it. I dropped it in a pile of mud whilst I was running, and now it sort of picks and chooses when it wants to work.

Anywho, I was kind of hoping to get a Nexus One, but there are issues with that plan, being that it hasn't yet been released in Europe, and even if it was, it would be wayyy out of my price range. So now I'm trying to decide between the Samsung H1 and the Samsung Jet. Both are on the same tariff unfortunately, because me being quite bad at keeping hold of my money (understatement of the year), I try where possible to go for the cheapest available option. And I kind of need to order it tonight because using my even older phone (it has a black and white screen, it is that old) is really cramping the small amount of style I have left.

Mehh, in other news...
Damn YOU, Vernon Kay. Vernon & I share a birthday. He is was the only person I enjoy sharing birthday with (the others include Saddam Hussein*, Howard Donald -as if I didn't get enough torture as a fan of Take That, some people had a field day when they found I share a birthday with one of them too- and Penelope Cruz & Jessica Alba- who leave an awful lot to live up to).
And, I mean, what's not to like about him, he's northern (I'm half northern. I'm also half Dutch, half English, half South African, half Canadian, half Welsh... I use them interchangeably), quirky, cute, perfectly fanciable but not strikingly gorgeous. And then he had to go and be a complete twat. Damn You Vernon Kay, Damn You.

*Mussolini also died on my birthday, Hitler two days after, and Robert Mugabe was inaugurated ten days before. The hours my friends have spent looking for some sort of vague link between me and Stalin...

Speaking of twat, I got a caution and One Point from a certain student website forum today for using that word and only half asterisking it out. Oh the travesty. Fifteen points and you get banned for a week- I know, hardcore.

In the sport, this weekend.

1) My local football team; Reading Fc, are atrociously bad. Almost bottom of their league, virtually unable to score a goal, however, in the Cup they are doing quite well. They've already knocked out two teams from the league above them; Liverpool -who despite having a bad season by their standards, are still 40+ league places above Reading- and West Brom. They have not got been in the quarter finals since 1927, and then yesterday in... whatever comes before the semi finals, with five minutes to go, they were 2-1 up. Three minutes to go, they let in a goal. And now they have to replay, which is never in a million years going to go well.

...Nevertheless, watch this space...

2) Wales Vs Scotland. I don't think anyone on my F-list is either Scottish, Welsh, or particularly cares about Rugby. But if they do... that game had the most entertaining five minutes of rugby I've seen in my entire life or Would have been, if I saw it!!!. With 2 minutes left, Scotland were winning 24-14, so I thought it was a done deal, and turned of the TV. I turned on the radio 5 minutes later, to hear that Wales had won 31-24. That's 17 points in 2 minutes, and I missed it!!!
... England were absolutely terrible in their game today though. If they hadn't been playing the worst team in the competition, they would never have won.

3) The winter olympics: well, me being half Canadian (see above), I couldn't wait to watch the winter olympics. I even have a blanket which has Vancouver 2010 on it. But really, I do like watching the Winter Olympics, because I know how bad England are going to be, so I can just watch it without rooting for anyone. But I can't watch it now that Luger is dead. They had what is essentially a picspam of his crash in the newspaper today, and what with the Beeb playing tributes to him every half an hour, it is too emotionally testing for me to watch.

Sorry for the slight length and randomness of this post. It was just meant to be the one point... but I got carried away.

Talking of random. I have a random tag which I use at random times for random posts when I randomly feel like it -I may have gone slightly ott with the random> there- and my OCD is getting to me because it is impossible to categorize the sort of post which goes under a random tag. Gahh.

I'm posting this now, before I come out with some more crap.  (I've spent wayy to much time around Games console obsessed boys. The spell checker suggested OCD should be spelt COD, and my immediate thought was "Why does the spellcheck know what Call of Duty is, but not OCD. Then I realised Cod is an actual word.)

television, technologies, i've found something on the interwebs!, yes another list, random celebrities, fussball
