The latest news...

I can't believe I haven't updated yet!! Here goes... (Cut for length, potential annoyance and for those who already know and may get bored.)

Well, I've decided after all to move home when Chris goes to Boot Camp.

I know, I know -- it's sort of a cop-out thing to do. But I'll go batty if I stay here alone and keep working at my current job. (An aside: the latest happening -- one of my co-workers, who just moved down to the first floor full-time job working with me about a month ago, has been off for the past week and a half to attend her boyfriend's mother's funeral. She'd never even met the woman. So guess who's been covering her? And hasn't even been thanked for doing so by the boss who made a fuss over my taking a single day off to figure out all these major changes in my life? Yup, me! Grrrr. ) Anyway, so yeah, I think they'll realize when I'm gone how much they counted on me around there, but too bad.

In the end, I figured it wasn't worth it to stay at that job where I am underappreciated and not paid enough. Now I can actually take off some time before Chris leaves to spend with him, have some actual Christmas vacation time to boot (I've never taken more than Christmas Day and the next day off in my three years there), have a rest from working for a little bit, work on wedding decorations, and maybe try to start a little ebay business selling protraits or something. Or take a correspondance Interior Design course, or something else. Plus, I am making it a goal to learn to drive in the winter and spring. It's about time. And I'll get to spend plenty of time with my family so they won't miss me so much, and I them, when I move far away for the next however-many years with Chris in the Army.

So, all in all, it may not be the logical thing to do, but it's what I need right now. I just have to stop feeling so darn guilty about it now, and everything will be peachy!

In other news, our courthouse wedding is set for December 2nd at 10:00 am to be witnessed by the lovely Goodmansons, and we picked up our marriage license today. So it's offical! Anyone else who wants to bother and has the time can show up too -- we're allowed up to eight guests. oh, but no confetti or rice. they felt it necessary to tell me that. *rolling ym eyes* I'm trying to determine the dresscode now... maybe pyjamas? Or just jeans and t-shirts? Or maybe we'll actually get dressed up. Who knows? ;) Either way, it will be no big deal and over quick, so I won't blame anyone for skipping it unless they're really bored that day. However, I DO want everyone to come to our place that night for a party to celebrate. It's next Friday evening. Time to be determined. Should we go out to eat, like we did for Heather's birthday, beforehand? let me know what's good for you all, please.

Oh, and we also ordered our wedding rings tonight! We were hoping to have them for this ceremony, but it ended up not working out -- they only had these rings at the one place and they didn't have our sizes. But, in the end, we figure it will be more special to wait for the "real" wedding in July. These were just the ones we had to have. Here's a picture:

Isn't that awesome?? I love it!!
