Jalex: the truth about us 2/?

Then he pulls her away. Abruptly. Violently. He looks disgusted. But not with her. With himself. Way to break the mood, she thinks, pouting. And he sees her look and frowns.

‘Reverse the spell’

She’s taken aback by his commanding, accusatory tone. He’s back to the big brother mode. Doesn’t he remember that they were kissing, like a minute ago?

‘What spell?’ she says, because apparently he avoids what just happened. Like he always does. Usually she gets some stuff he’s talking about but now she’s completely lost.

‘The spell!’ he repeats, a little louder, like he wants to prove a point. ‘You used magic didn’t you?’

But he doesn’t sound so sure. She shakes her head no (and this time she’s honest, way to go) and throws her hands in the air. Stupid Justin. She wants to get out, escapes from him but he’s still holding her. And man, has it always been so hot in here?

‘Justin, let me go’ she says and her voice is shaking. What’s wrong with her?

But Justin doesn’t move. Not one bit. And then his hand goes down and…oh. Sneaky bastard. He knows her too well (but how does he know that?) and she breathes loudly, her heart beating hard against her chest.

‘Justin…’ she starts and he stops instantly. She’s the one who broke the mood now. He takes a few steps backwards, stumbles on a chair and falls on his back. A little groan comes out of his throat and, okay, she must be crazy because that was the sexiest sound she’s ever heard. Coming from him. You know, her brother. So she bends over him, like she would do if…things were not awkward.

‘Are you okay?’
‘Yeah’ he mumbles, making a face. He’s hurt but he’s too proud to say it.
‘Want my help?’ she asks, insecure now. He looks at her with a curious expression and nods. Baby steps.

She holds out her hand and he takes it and, oh, he’s heavy. Nope, he’s strong, she corrects herself. A geeky guy who goes to the gym. That’s not something you see everyday. They stand next to each other, Justin rubbing his legs with his free hand. She’s holding his hand. None of them wants to let go.

‘Justin’ she tries again, because it needs to be said, ‘I’m sorry’ (she means it) ‘but I didn’t use magic, I swear’.

He looks skeptically at her, which makes her a little angry but his face softens. She looks like a puppy. He actually smiles.

‘I believe you’ he answers, squeezing her hand. She shivers. Not because of that. No.
‘So, are we…cool?’ she asks, hoping it is knowing it’s not. Because no siblings did that. Kissing. And enjoying it.
‘I guess. We have to. It’s you and I remember?’

She smiles hopefully at him and he presses a soft kiss on her forehead. And he leaves. Like that. And oh. Oh. She thinks she might be falling for him. Justin Russo. Oh crap. She’s in love with her brother.

Seriously, how screwed is she? Magic can’t help her. And she’s pretty sure she has a reserved ticket to Hell. And her parents? They would freak out. Justin would freak out. Max…well Max could be normal about it, he was a weird little kid.

She needs a solution. And fast. Because she doesn’t think she can hold her feelings inside any longer.
