Fic TBBT: Blind chapter 5
Title: Blind
Summary: Penny offers Sheldon to come to his brother's wedding with him. I gave Sheldon's brother a name=>Tom. I don't know why.

This chapter is longer than the rest but I hope you'll still enjoy it after the depressing 4th episodes of season 3^^
Sheldon then indicated to Penny he had to go see his brother. She smiled and followed him. His brother was a little smaller than him but she could see the resemblance.
‘Sheldon, glad you could join the party!’
Good, thought Penny, he didn’t sound like a genius.
‘It was a non-optional social convention’ Sheldon replied, winking at Penny. Wait? Did he just blink at her?
‘If you say so bro. and who’s your charming girlfriend?’
Penny blushed.
‘This is Penny, my neighbor. And she’s not my girlfriend. She’s dating Leonard’
‘Really? He’s so tiny!’
Sheldon glanced at Penny and smirked.
‘No offense’ he added, nodding at her.
No, he looked exactly like Sheldon when he did that.
‘Non taken’ she said, still confused about all this.
‘You have to excuse my brother Penny. He’s not as good as me when it comes to social conventions’
Penny widened her eyes and giggled. Even Sheldon’s brother laughed. Sheldon smiled a little and whispered ‘Bazinga’ in Penny’s ear. The hot breath of his mouth made her shiver.
‘Still funny I see. I’m Tom by the way since Sheldon haven’t introduced me yet’
He shook hands with Penny and excused himself when one of his friends tapped him on the shoulder. He left with a smile. Penny stared at Sheldon for a while. He turned to face her, gazing intensely into her eyes. They stayed like that for a moment.
‘Shelly!’ Missy shouted, hitting him on his arm.
He blinked to see his sister, looking extremely tensed.
‘Oh hello Missy’ Sheldon said, grinning, ‘you seem awfully stressed’
‘Oh imagine that! Of course I’m stressed Sheldon! You took so much time to answer the invitation I just assumed you wouldn’t come. Tom is really concerned about all this because he wished dad was here to see that. He’s marrying his high-school sweetheart, Mom doesn’t know where Uncle James is and as for me, my boyfriend dumped me’
‘Oh I’m so sorry!’ Penny said, throwing her hand on her forearm.
‘God Penny! I didn’t even recognize you! How nice of you to come…’
She glanced at Sheldon who seemed pretty bumped by what she had just said.
‘Why are you here?’
‘I just offered to come. Sheldon would have been terrified’
She laughed, hoping it will cheer Missy up and hoping she’d buy it. She thought of Leonard. He still hasn’t called. She wondered if he was mad at her but he had no reasons to be.
‘The wedding is about to start. Better hurry’
She ran after Mary Cooper, who had a bouquet in her hands. Sheldon sighed and grabbed Penny’s hand to follow them. Penny didn’t even look before her. Her gaze was on Sheldon, who was guiding her through the house and into the garden. They head off to the Church, Sheldon’s hand still in Penny’s and stopped when Mary faced them with a death glare.
‘Ok Sheldon, I know this is not the kind of thing you enjoy, but please, don’t say anything. We’re about to penetrate into the Lord’s House so shut your mouth and let your brother get married. Understood?’
‘Come on, you know I’ll behave. Besides, I have Penny with me’
He smiled at her with so much affection that Penny would have kissed him. If it wasn’t for his family. Or Leonard. She took a deep breath and nodded.
‘I’ll keep an eye on him Ms Cooper’ she added, confident. Because she knew she will. Because she saw this girl not far away from her staring at Sheldon with envy. She saw that and there was no way in hell she’d let him with her. She made junior rodeo after all.
‘Let’s go’ Missy told them and they entered into the Church.
‘Penny’
She looked up at him. Damn blue eyes!
‘Penny, I’m scared’
‘That’s okay sweetie, I’m here’
She caressed his hand with her thumb and he seemed to appreciate.
‘But I’ll be alone over there’
He pointed the aisle and she grinned.
‘If you’re scared, just look for me’
‘Thank you Penny. Ok, let’s just finish it as soon as we can’
He marched toward the aisle to join his brother, who looked anxious. Penny smiled to herself and sat in the front row, next to Sheldon’s mother. Mary smirked at her and gave her a copy of the Bible.
‘This may be my only marriage’
‘Hey!’ Missy interrupted, crossing her arms to her chest.
‘I’m sure Missy will find a good man’ Penny addressed to her more than Mary.
‘Thank you Penny. And I still recall my genius brother trying to sell me to one of his friends. I can’t believe him. As much as I love him, he’s a nut case’
‘His father always told me that. You have to take your time because once you dig a little more, Sheldon is the most adorable boy on Earth. He’s a bless of God’ Mary said, pride read on her face.
‘He’s a bless alright’ Penny scoffed, gazing at the tall man who seemed so different today. He suddenly turned to her. She smiled encouragingly to him and he shrugged, visibly trying to relax.
‘Isn’t he gorgeous in his suit?’ Mary asked Penny with a grin.
Penny didn’t answer because the rings just belled. She turned around and saw the most beautiful bride she had ever seen in her life. She heard Mary sob and she felt herself full with emotion. That’s what she wanted. A beautiful wedding with the man she loved. And for some reason, she couldn’t picture Leonard with her. The bride walked through the aisle to join his future husband, who looked amazed by the view. Penny felt tears running on her cheeks and tried to hide them with her hands. It was ridiculous but she always cried in weddings. Tom took his fiancé’s hand and Penny could tell he was crying too. She glanced at Sheldon who was grinning but also seemed awkward. The happy couple got married and everybody cheered. Penny got up and followed Mary and Missy blindly.
‘Penny’ she heard behind her. She jumped by surprise and faced Sheldon, who looked quizzically at her.
‘Gee Sheldon, I’m sorry. I thought you’d still be with your brother. You did very good’
‘Thank you Penny. I thought so too’
She smiled then grabbed him by the arm. Mary was still before her, the bouquet in her hands, accelerating her steps to find her son and his wife.
‘Will you do a speech?’ asked Penny, looking up at Sheldon.
‘Oh Penny, you are uncanny’
Penny stopped and rolled her eyes.
‘What do you mean?’
‘Don’t you know me after two years? Can you really imagine me doing a speech?’
‘No you’re right’
‘We have to go to the ballroom dancing. An other social convention I presume’
Penny smiled, her hand still on Sheldon’s arm. Was it wrong for her to think that she didn’t want to go back to Pasadena?
